You Don’t Need Religion To Be A Decent Human
Every time, a bunch of religious fanatics go berserk, doesn’t matter which religion they belong to, a bunch of others following the same faith come out saying, “This is not what our religion teaches us. This is not true Hinduism. This is not what the Quran or the Bible says.”
What the fuck? You need to refer to a book to be a decent human? What’s that head for?
If there were a God, the one who apparently created us, he would be extremely happy if you used one of the things he has blessed you with - the brain. Probably, that’s why he gave you a brain in the first place - so that you could use it and not involve him in anything.
Referring to a book means you do not support the act just because your god forbids so… Otherwise, you do not see anything wrong in what happened. Is that what you are saying?
Just imagine you are having a one-to-one conversation with God. You say, “God, that person did blah-blah-blah. I read your book. You said blah-blah-blah. So, I did what I did.” How do you think he would respond? “Bravo! Well done my boy!” Nope. He is going to kick your ass and say, “Use your fucking brain. This book was written centuries ago. The syllabus has changed now.”
Nope. I am not even considering the possibility that whatever the scriptures say might have been valid and correct in the distant past. Some things are just wrong, doesn’t matter which time period you are referring to. But that’s not in the scope of this post.
Religion is going to remain an integral part of our life for the foreseeable future. Doesn’t matter if you don’t believe in religion, doesn’t matter if you don’t practice it. Doesn’t matter if you don’t wear it on your sleeve. It’s going to bite you in one way or the other. We have to live with it.
It’s better we learn to talk about it.
Isn’t it unfortunate that we are not capable of talking about and discussing the two most important aspects of our life - religion and politics - without revealing our animalistic side?
