Kohinoor And The Great Leader

The chat box beeped.

Why aren’t you making any joke about the Kohinoor comment by the Modi government?”

It was a Bhakt…

I had my semester exam going on, and wasn’t reading newspapers. So I didn’t have much knowledge about all these ruckus going on about that goddamn diamond all over again.

And anyway, I have never had any interest in all these debates and discussions on the likes of Taher Shah, Rakhi Sawant, and Kohinoor… Although I won’t deny that the last one is valuable. But there are other things in my priority list to bang my head on. And bringing back Kohinoor isn’t going to solve these problems. Just like banning ceiling fans won’t solve the problem of suicide or Taher Shah’s Angel wouldn’t make any remarkable difference to contemporary music.

In fact, bringing back Kohinoor will probably create more problems, for everybody will claim that the Mountain of Light belongs to them… And one party will go on to change its Persian name to a Viraat Bharatiya name, thus creating more insignificnt debates and probably riots…

So I replied, Kohinoor isn’t important for me…”

Why, bro? Every petty thing is important to you when it comes to the Modi government. Are you embarrassed that He’ has such a big heart that he gave away the Kohinoor? :D :D”

That was predictable.

Right… He and his gang are great. No, I mean GREAT. In capitals, I mean…” I replied.

So you agree that our Modi ji is himself the Mountain of Light? Light of Love and Forgiveness? :D”

I am sure he patted his own back after typing this message, admiring his literary talents…

No doubt at all…” I replied. Both of them are supposed to be in India. But the Kohinoor is never here, and the Great Leader is not here for 70% of the time… And it wouldn’t matter if either of them were here… So, yeah… He is the Kohinoor…”

He blocked me…
