I Have Won The War

I left my engineering career in 2014. It’s not that I had no respect for engineering; it’s just that I never wanted to become an engineer. It was not meant for me. I wanted to write.

Anyway, my parents said that I will never ever get another job.

I left home next year to pursue my dream course of Journalism and Mass Communication. Asma Di, with whom I had just got acquainted, told me to come back to Bangalore, and then we would sort out the next step. I trusted her. My girlfriend bought me a ticket. And I came back to Bangalore.

The admission to most of the colleges were over and classes had already started. Asma Di introduced me to John Thomas sir, and I got admission to one of the best insitutes in the city.

My parents didn’t want to support me. Neverthless, they paid my tuition fees. But they were not happy. My dad didn’t talk to me for one and half years. And my mom…Everytime I shared some good news related to the course, like Maa, I came second in my class”, she replied with a cold Hmmm…”

What good will this course do?” She would ask.

After this one month internship, my job has been confirmed today. And I feel I have won the war. Especially because, I will earn more than many of my engineer friends are earning despite working for the past three-four years.

And if you judge me for this, you should try living the kind of life I had lived for the past two years.

Anyway, it’s time to pay everything forward
